Eritrea and Somalia are discussing ways to strengthen bilateral ties, as part of the steps established by the governments of both countries in the normalization of relations.
According to a statement issued by the Eritrean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a high-level delegation visits Mogadishu for that purpose.
The delegation includes the Foreign Minister, Osman Saleh, who goes to the neighboring nation at the invitation of the Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed (Farmajo).
The delegation seeks to specify strategies with a view to improving the stability of the African horn through the reinvigoration of cooperation in key areas of development, the statement said.
According to the text, Saleh reiterated Asmara's desire to resume diplomatic and economic ties and exchanged views on the possibility of also strengthening collaboration from a political point of view.
